Club Campestre de Cartagena is the city’s traditional private country club, founded in 1976 and serving as the core of Cartagena’s local golfing community for nearly five decades. The course is a classic Caribbean parkland layout — tree-lined fairways, small-to-medium greens, and a routing that works with the naturally flat coastal terrain rather than reshaping it.

The Course
At 6,521 yards, the course plays shorter than Karibana’s championship stretch, but the defense comes from tight tree lines, strategic bunkering around the greens, and the same Caribbean trade winds that affect every seaside course in the region. It’s a more intimate, country-club experience compared to Karibana’s resort scale.
How It Plays
Sea level, so no altitude adjustments. Wind is the main variable: trade winds from December through March regularly blow 15–25 km/h, adding up to a club or more on exposed holes. Bermuda fairways run firm; greens are moderately fast.
The flat terrain makes the course walkable, and the mature trees provide welcome shade on the typical 28–32°C Caribbean day. Humidity is high year-round.
Location & Access
Club Campestre de Cartagena sits just outside Cartagena’s city center, 20–25 minutes from the walled old city and roughly 15 minutes from Rafael Núñez International Airport (CTG). This makes it the most convenient course in the region for golfers staying in Cartagena proper.
The club is private. Visiting play is arranged through reciprocal arrangements or IAGTO-affiliated operators.
Practical Notes
Caddie is mandatory. Walking is standard; carts available. An afternoon after the round is easily spent in the walled city (Getsemaní, Plaza Santo Domingo, colonial-era dining) or in Bocagrande. The course is practical for a one-round Cartagena stop, or in rotation with Karibana for a two-round local itinerary.
